Andrei Dotsenko’s ICF “MANUS DEI” handed over to the Stepan regional hospital a new modern ultrasound machine – now seventeen thousand residents can use the services of modern diagnostics
The MANUS DEI charitable foundation have repeatedly come across the fact that even large medical institutions in Kiev do not always have enough diagnostic equipment. In district hospitals, in villages and townships, the situation today is catastrophic.
Stepanskaya regional hospital in Rivne region, which serves more than 17 thousand residents, was no exception. Most of patients are elderly people and people from the least protected segments of the population. In order to undergo an ultrasound examination, they have to go to the regional center, to the city Rivne – which is 90 kilometers! Now add to this the time, effort and financial costs spent on the journey of a person who is unwell or in pain – this will be a clear picture of how the situation with the medical sector in Ukraine is today. Most hospitals use outdated diagnostic equipment. Experts say that ultrasound machines, even ten years ago, are devoid of additional functions and are significantly inferior in image quality to devices of the latest generation. This increases the risk of being misdiagnosed.

Therefore, when the deputy of the Rivne Regional State Administration Ksenia Pavlovskaya contacted our fund with a request to provide the Stepan regional hospital with an ultrasound system, and told about the needs of this medical institution, our team immediately responded. Yesterday MANUS DEI happily handed over a modern, powerful and very mobile ultrasound machine, which includes a 15-inch monitor, a hard disk with a large memory capacity, a built-in battery, color Doppler and a whole set of sensors. At the same time, the system weighs only 8 kilograms, which makes it easy to carry it and conduct research not only in a stationary office, but also in wards.

Fund Chairman Andrey Dotsenko noted: “I am glad that today the MANUS DEI team has closed another urgent need – now the residents of Stepan and other nearby settlements will be able to undergo a prompt and high-quality examination. Join our cause friends!”.
