ICF “MANUS DEI” has completed a project in the Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Organic Lesions of the Nervous System at Bogatyrskaya, 30 – now there is a renewed gym for exercise therapy for young patients

Today the team of ICF “MANUS DEI” visited the Center for the Rehabilitation of Children with Organic Lesions of the Nervous System (Obolonsky District, Kiev), where a room for group exercise therapy, renewed by the efforts of the fund, began its work.

Having learned about the needs of the Center, to which parents from all over Ukraine bring their children, the foundation joined the process of rehabilitation of children with disabilities, and modernized the equipment of the hall, having installed a climbing wall.

According to experts, it is classes at the climbing wall that are one of the most important stages in the rehabilitation of a child with disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

In addition to general physical fitness, such exercises help to solve a number of problems, including providing the patient with the right loads and forming the necessary motor stereotypes.

The rehabilitation center for children with organic lesions of the nervous system is located on the territory of the Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1 (Bogatyrskaya St., 30). High-level specialists work here, who use the leading European rehabilitation methods that do not involve drug intervention; their task is to alleviate the condition of babies, restore basic body functions, help develop basic skills and socialize as much as possible.

As the chairman of the ICF “MANUS DEI” Andriy Dotsenko noted, there are more than 30 thousand children with cerebral palsy in Ukraine today, and this figure is growing every year, but there are still sorely lack of specialized institutions for rehabilitation.

“Despite the fact that in developed countries kindergartens are provided for such kids, where they are taught to communicate, walk, eat on their own and are given many other basic skills, the situation in Ukraine is the opposite. From our own experience, we have seen that in our country there are critically few specialized centers with competent specialists, and the problem of rehabilitation of such children, unfortunately, completely falls on the shoulders of parents and doctors. They do their best to minimize the consequences of incurable diseases and disorders of the nervous system. ”

According to experts, it is impossible to completely restore a child’s health.

But timely, systematic and high-quality rehabilitation greatly facilitates the condition of children and prepares them for life in society. The mission of the “MANUS DEI” charitable foundation is to make rehabilitation more accessible and to help medical institutions as much as possible so that Ukrainians have the opportunity to receive better medical care.
